Yeah, each world is roughly the same length as the first two, however later worlds require you to do more levels. For example, the desert world is basically cut in two, meaning that you only have to do half of the levels, the other half being optional, however in later worlds, there will still be splits, but usually only making one or two levels optional at most. So yeah, after world... 3 I think, you will be doing more in each world.
Also, theres the hidden challenge levels, the golden mushrooms, and all the secrets I hid in levels, so theres plenty to do. Theres also a secret room hidden in each world (1 room per world) that will give you some neat backstory on the in game object, the Hand of Midas, that you are collecting.
