I may make a new one. The main issue is that it's become what people recognize with the game, so anything new will most likely be looked down upon anyways.

Ya know, I thought Spade was gonna be fought. All those shrooms' would be used by him. IDK, I would love a boss that uses not just one power-up, BUT ALL OF THEM.

But none of the gold shrooms are power ups, so in what sense could a boss use them as a power up? Either way, they do come into play for a later boss battle I have planned.


As for Spade, idk if he's even in the game anymore. I remember talking to Guinea about him but I don't remember what we ended up with.

Quick suggestion:

The fire pipes from NSMB2 could be fun. (Throw a fireball in, item comes out the other end)

It could be cool for a Golden Mushroom. Say that the other end of the pipe is above you and shoots out a golden mushroom that is moving towards a pit: you gotta run through a spike filled hallway quick enough to intercept the 'shroom before it drops.

That's a new and interesting twist on a old concept. And since we already know Fireflowers are going to be used for puzzles, as seen with the bushes outside of Toad Town, this is just a natural extension of that.

You know, I was wondering how many powerups are going to be in this. I know the fireflower is in, but are there any others?

By level exclusives, you mean like the Goomba Shoe, or Yoshi in NSMBWii?

Not to be overly negative, but isn't their exclusivity of the biggest criticisms against their respective games?

I can only speak for myself, but I've always preferred to be able to experiment with lots of different power-ups in lots of different levels. It adds to the replay value.

The thing is that we have 4 player characters, which all control differently. In a way it is like having 4 powerups out of the box already.
Especially Wario is very different to the Mario Bros, and his Fire ability works differently to theirs.
We have a Yoshi-like companion (will be revealed officially at NCFC) planned as well (who you can keep past level goals).

The focus of Midas Machine is not a huge variety of power-ups, which has already been done in various games and is really easy to do these days with Hello's engine, but the exploration and freedom that you can get out of having 4 characters to choose from.

The levels are not designed for power-ups like the Raccoon Tail or the Cape, if that's what you want. There are levels which are about ascending vertically, but there will be another device you use.

I see.

I've always preferred a mobility enhancing powerup to a projectile powerup, so that's why I wondered.

Oh well, the game's still shaping up to be amazing anyway. Can't wait for the next demo/release.

How about for a bonus world Midbus is a boss and the enemies on the level that leads up to the Midbus fight are pigifiied versions of koopas and goomba etc. with ice powers for an added challenge. Also when deafeat Midbus the first time hegets back up and turns into blizzard Midbus

After seeing NSMBU, there should be an enemy or a boss that randomly ambushes you when you enter a level. Maybe each world would make it different, like in World 2 there could be geysers that could be the only way to reach him.
