Hello again, and welcome to the 6th Musical Competition! Congratulations to MarioSonicCouncil for coming in second place last time! Another thanks to our other participants as well! So what's going to be the next theme, you ask? Well, I decided to go for my favorite music genre. What is that genre, you ask? Well, it's:
Progressive Rock!
What is Progressive Rock (or Prog Rock) you ask? Well, your stoop1d if u dontt no it's an off-shoot of "Psychedelic Rock" that originated in the UK. Two of my favorite bands are well known Prog Rock musicians; RUSH and Pink Floyd. These two bands were very influential to the genre, so to show you what kind of music you'll have to make, allow me to throw up a song or two for reference:
Rush - Tom Sawyer
Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall
So, with those at your side, what can you make? Anything, really. An original Prog Rock song, a remix of a Mario song in Prog Rock, etc. It's all up to your imagination (and composing / remixing skills =P)
Note: Your entry doesn't have to be exactly like one of the example songs to qualify; look up some more songs if you like, as long as it has elements or sounds like Prog Rock, you're good to go!
You have until... hmm... September 25th sound alright? Good luck, children! WAIT, UPDATE!
TIME EXTENSION~
You all now have until October 12th to get your entries done.

Without trying to be biased, subjective or anything of that sort, Prog Rock kicks some major ass =P
I just hope people will be up for this daunting task...
Oh whoops! I forgot to set deadlines XD

Wait, then what was the point of posting?[/quote]
I think what SK is trying to say, is that, its a rather difficult theme to use, requiring a lot for something to fit into that genre of music.

You don't need a whole studio to make a song in this genre. And that's fine if the theme bores you, but you don't have to announce your "leave" from this comp, it isn't necessary.

Wario's Number 1!
This is an awesome idea for a competition! I am not familiar with Progressive Rock, but I'll probably come up with something. Muse is also an example of Progressive Rock, right?
And also, my entry will be a song from my album that is in the making.

Yep! Technically New Prog and Progressive Metal, but those are both crucial off-shoots of later made Prog Rock, so it all fits. Again, your entries just need elements of the genre or it's relatives to qualify for anyone nervous; it's not strict ^^

Always have a Shy-Guy in your avatar
A while ago I told a friend of mine that I'd compose a progressive rock theme for a game she was making. If I strike out and fail to enter this Music Competition, you have the right to boil me in oil and laugh while doing so.

Huh, this theme is hard. :/
I wish I knew exactly "prog rock" is, cause I actually wanted to compete in this. Also, it's just me but a month is way too long for a music comp. :3

I feel like everyone is saying this is hard because they can't just edit a MIDI's instruments to enter for this competition. This competition actually takes effort!
