When I start the game up I get

Quote:
___________________________________________
ERROR in
action number 1
of Key Release Event for Key
for object objSetup:

Error defining an external function.

The game starts to play then but there's no music. The only sound is the sfx like stomping on Goombas. I'm on Windows 7 (64-bit).

This is a glitch caused by the BGM/Bass DLLs, and can not be fixed, because it's a bug of the DLL. We can neither fix nor replace the DLL because there is no other DLL that can do exactly what BGM does, and the only other one I found has a different bug that happens every time you play the game for some computers.
It only happens once in a while, and when it does, all you need to do is to log off and on or reboot your PC and it works. Sorry for the inconvenience, but as said, it happens as good as never, and once the game has started it will work until you close it.

Yeah, jumpthrough slopes are not programmed, as they were at first not intended to be in the game, but when the game turned larger it appears that some level designs required them, so we put solids there for now. May be fixed by Chapter 2, but as said, the engine isn't really layed out to handle this so, no promises.

I dunno if this also counts for sliding downwards, or for all other solid objects, but in Toad Town I slid up one of the houses and went through the chimney(not down it).

The first one, although odd, isn't a huge issue as you can't really do anything up there (Unless Luigi can jump to the other side and hit the boss, then it's a problem).

The second isn't a bug, although having her respawn after a few seconds could be a good idea.

This might already be fixed, but:

There's a single brown pixel that seems out of place here. Not too big a deal, though it's more noticeable in-game because of the parallax background movement.

He's probably talking about the Goombas not being killed but turned upsidedown instead. That is already fixed, although, the way he reported the bug, he assumes we already know about the bug, which makes the report pointless :/

So yeah: If you report a bug: Say what happens exactly and don't let us guess.

Hey Guinea, here are those errors I was talking about.

The first one is the default:
Quote:
ERROR in
action number 1
of Key Release Event for <unknown> Key
for object objLotusFlame:

Error defining an external function.

Although up until today it was saying "Magic Carpet Left" instead of Lotus Flame.

The other one is this:
Quote:
--- BGM Error Report ---
ERROR DATE: 7/13/2011
SRC FILE: src/bgm_play.c
LINE NO: 260
MESSAGE: "Failed to get playing status of song - Invalid song ID or filename."
VERSION: 2.0 beta
BUILD DATE: Sep 14 2006
--- End of Report ------

The first is the BGM.dll error which happens randomly. To fix: Log off and on again or reboot.

The second comes because a level you made references a song file that doesn't exist, so double check the music you picked.

I've rebooted a number of times. As for the second one, I thought I fixed that. Must not have gone through after my computer crashed mid transfer.

A physical phenomenon called "glitch" is probably responsible for that.

And I think in the SVN version this has been fixed by now.
