I think this glitch has been spotted before, but when using the cloud while trying to go up a pipe, the pipe sound plays but the player does not actually move into the pipe. The player just sits frozen until the cloud disappears which then reverts the player into a continuous falling motion. This basically leaves the game in a broken state unable to do anything.

This glitch was located on the level called Desert (after the level called Dunes).

So, I know this is really late and probably stupid, but I was playing this again with my new computer and all. When I got to Peach's Castle, everything was fine, until I got to the interior of the ship. When all four of the cannons blasted, the game froze and said it wasn't responding, causing me to exit out. I since it happens when a large amount of cannons go off, I don't know if its a sound issue or what. Also, since other people don't have much problem, I'm thinking its a me problem, but I have no clue how to fix it.

EDIT: So after tinkering, I lowered the SFX volume and the problem fixed itself. I apologize for not trying things out before posting, but at least if any has a similar problem, they would know now.

It seems to be a common issue where on some people's computers game maker will crash if multiple sounds are played at once.

It happens a lot on Windows 8. So if you have that, this is the problem. Unfortunately can't really be fixed as it's a bug in GM's engine or in Windows 8. Only way to bypass would be to play only one sound at a time which means to replace the play_sound function everywhere in the whole game with a custom script and that's a lot of manual searching work due to how GM is layed out :/

I don't know if anyone noticed this already, but this happens when I was holding a key, paused, then got this when I unpaused:

ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object __newobject557:

Trying to use non-existing surface.

I hope this helps.

That this happens when holding a key is weird. It is a bug reporting the missing of a surface, which means that something has happened that wipes the surface data off the memory. Usually this only happens when for example that Windows permission dialog pops up, or something else that's external.

I'll see if I can reproduce this :o

Idk if this has been reported, but if you hit Syrup while she is turning around, she will get stuck.

That can be taken horribly wrong out of context :P
