Amazing!

Introducing: Sand Geysers (Currently using placeholder graphics) These aren't like the ones from NSMBWii. These ones are always going, and the tops aren't solid, you bounce a bit, which makes sense considering I can't imagine a fountain of sand is the easiest thing to get your footing on. [img]http://i41.tinypic.com/28ba2px.jpg[/img] Objects and enemies can also be caught up in them. [img]http://i39.tinypic.com/30xgbuv.jpg[/img] Turns out making a giant sand geyser can allow for some neat vertical ascending levels. [img]http://i39.tinypic.com/xkq5gn.jpg[/img] Enemies also bounce along the surface, meaning you have to be careful when jumping on them.

I'll be honest, still pictures don't do it much justice, but I will say this, I plan on using this gimmick in future levels as well. It's a really fun feature, especially since it can carry items. I've had times where I'll throw a shy guy in a room with lots of sand geysers, and the shy guy will travel all over the place by riding them and bouncing off of walls. I could see that being used for some neat puzzle levels, or bonus rooms.

So, at this point, how much complete can you say the redesign of World 1 is? Also, those sand geyser levels looks fun!

More or less, around 95%. We need to add the shop and we may change the Syrup fight a bit, but that aside, it's pretty much finished.

I'll just say it now, no it won't play like SMG. I don't think Guinea would want to make a huge feature like that for a single world, especially when only a few levels would use it. No, we are going the 2D Mario in space route (as seen in SML2), in other words, low gravity. There will however probably be a few nods to SMG. Maybe a launch star that functions as a spring or something.

Last world is in space? Damn this is becoming more and more like my fantasy fangame.

Don't get too excited guys, we are still a good ways away from working on the space world. The good news is that we finally have most of the little things out of the way, things that will be used throughout the entire game, so now it's mostly gimmicks, bosses, and enemies unless I'm mistaken.
