Yeah, I'll leave the instruments as they are now.
No, not the Luigi's Mansion on the GameCube, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. I'm currently anayzing the trailer of back when it used to be called LM2.
Yeah, the song's pretty empty when I think about it. I'll work on it...

Oh I knew which Luigi's Mansion you were talking about, I didn't bother adding the subtitle because I was basing it directly off of your comment, so I figured it would be clear that I was referring to the same Luigi's Mansion game. Sorry about that.

Oh okay.
This is the theme that I'm talking about. Somebody made a transcribed version.
Edit: Sped up Athletic, and I tried sampling the Jew's Harp from Rayman Origins. Added another piano to the underwater theme, and made V1.0 of the Factory theme. By the way, don't you guys have a few underwater themes already?

2 of them are the same, one is just slower, but both needed replacements as they were a bit... monotonous. I believe there is a 3rd one that Tobie started but never finished as well.

Alright, I'll take a listen to the songs and I'll update this post as I hear them.

Factory song- Sounds great. Only suggestion is maybe change the BG tool sound. I guess it's a power drill or something? I thought it was someone playing with a zipper at first honestly. Maybe use two different tool based sounds and do one and then the other back and forth or something? Idk, I'll leave it to you (I was thinking maybe a socket wrench sound if that helps). Idk how to explain it, but the current tool sound is too... sharp? Thats the best word I can think of I'm afraid.

Desert- Sounds great. No suggestions from me.

Underwater- Same as the desert, awesome job, keep up the good work.

Um... Could you help me look for some machine sounds?
...Ah.
Well, that leaves just the ghost theme for me. Anything else you guys need?
EDIT: Little ghost thing. I dunno, think I wanna change the bass but dang, this one's a tough one.

That sounds great. Good job.

As for machine sounds, I wouldn't know where to start looking. Either way the song is still good as is, it was just a suggestion so it's not a big deal if you can't change it.

As for anything else we need...
Ghost world OW
Ghost World boss theme (I'd wait until we have a playable version of the boss before making this one)
Theres also an optional song you could do if you wanted. We basically need a remix of the theme that plays in the Pumpkin Zone levels from SML2. This one is completely optional and only if you want to do it.

EDIT- I guess we could also use a train theme. I believe someone started one a while ago in this topic but never finished.

Just wanted to let you know that I slipped some of your songs into their levels and they sound perfect. I did raise the volume for the desert theme as it was a bit lower than the other songs, but aside from that, everything is spot on.

Ah, sure.
Which do you like better, the one with or without the Jew's Harp from Rayman Origins?
I can't find better sound effects, and I'll be trying the Pumpkin Zone and Train ones first. Expect train sound effects to be sampled!
Say, which Pumpkin Zone are you talking about, this one, this one or this one? (The last one is a joke.)

Hmmm... It's hard to say. I like the Rayman one but after testing a few levels, I find that it gets old after a while, so I may use it for some levels, and the one without it in others, unless you have something else in mind.

As for the sound effects, thats fine, it was just a suggestion in case you could find something. I mainly mentioned it because it was making me thing of:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWiHtzP-bc4
But yeah, after listening to your factory song again, idk, whatever was bugging me this morning isn't anymore.

I didn't even click the last one. I'm going to guess that it's the song from Knuckle's level in SA2. Anyways, it's this theme:

Sure, go ahead.

Oh. Is that a bad thing?
O....kay.
How did you know? Oh yeah, I called it a joke. And oh, the graveyard thing? ...Dang. This is gonna be hard.
I can't find any good train samples, so if my program doesn't have samples, then I'm gonna have to exclude or imitate them.
EDIT: Isn't there a Ghost overworld already? Oh, and I did use two samples, one's some smashing sound.

Nah, it's not a bad thing. I think the issue is that I went in listening to it expecting one thing instead of listening and enjoying it for what it is, so honestly it was my fault.

Do what you can. I believe you've been added to the SVN so you should be able to try the levels now. You'll notice that the train level (in world 2) bounces a bit to imitate the motion of being on a train, so adding train sounds may be tricky unless you can get it to match the actual motion (so it may be better without it, idk).

I know KPP made a ghost OW and honestly, it's an amazing song, but it's not very fitting with the rest of the music, or as a Mario song in general. If anyone else made a ghost world OW, I either missed it or forgot about it.

Okay, no samples for train theme.
The current com I'm on can't handle Midas for some reason, so I can't check it until my laptop gets Internet access.
What about the techmario one, by the way?
EDIT: I found a train (going on the tracks) instrument on my software. Dang. Oh, and what kinda remix do you want for the Graveyard theme? I think I can do it after all.
EDIT 2: Train theme Version 1 yeah (feat. SMW theme [again])? The melody's pretty much complete, If there's anything I'm changing, it's looping and instruments.

Hopefully you can test it soon so you can see your music put to use.

Wait... techmario made an OW theme? I know that he recently made the ghost house themes and the rocket barrel theme, but I don't remember a ghost OW, unless I missed it.

What kind of remix? Hmmm... I'd say mainly having it updated to from 8bit would work, maybe with your own touches mixed in. Honestly, whatever you'd enjoy would work. If you want to stick strictly to the original, fine. If you want to add in your own custom sections, also fine. I'll leave it up to you.

That train theme is beautiful and I think it will fit perfectly.

Maybe I'll dump it onto a USB drive and
Oh, overworld and house are different. Sorry bout that. Say, how do you want the song to be like?
Ah, just a touch in quality? Perfect. I may edit anything of it, depending on what you guys say.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun making the song, and I added a bit of shout-outs, some to my original compositions and one to the SMW theme (I won't guess which one's gonna be easier for you to identify). The... Bassoon, I think, at the start was to imitate train sounds, and also made the opening drum beat less empty.

Well, that leaves... What, now?

Thats tough to say. See, the OW takes place outside and inside the house, so it needs to fit both locations I guess.

That sounds pretty good. We could use it as is, or, if you want you could add more to it, I'll leave it up to you.

As for whats left... hmmm... Well, the ghost OW and the ghost world boss theme is the only thing that comes to mind, but the boss theme should probably be held off until we have the boss. Past that, I guess you could go ahead and make some songs for later parts in the game if you wanted to.

Okay, I'll try it.
Thanks. Personally, I don't like ghostly themes, so if it works for you, it works for me.
Well, do you have any info about the boss? If not, I'll most likely remix this.

Thats the thing, we really don't have much on the boss in terms of how it will function or anything, at least not enough to know what kind of song will fit him.

Oh well, what's the next world, and what are the songs you need for it?
EDIT: My laptop can run Midas, feels pretty good to hear my music in it.

The next world is the ice world. The main songs we would need for it is:

Athletic
Sub pop
Casino/city
Castle

So yeah, it's a rather simple world. As we progress later into the game, we should need less and less things. In case you are wondering about the Casino/city one, I'm thinking about basing the Ice World as an icy Las Vegas theme (originally there was 1 or 2 levels with this theme, but I think it could work in most of the level, even if it's more subtle in some than others). I was thinking it could be a jazzy tune or something.

Snowy Athletic and Casino? This is gonna be fun!
By the way, any idea what the lead instrument in this is? I think it's an accordion, am I right?
