Glukom, that sounds amazing. Nothing I can think of that needs changing, it sounds perfect.

Agreed. Pretty much spot on for Mario Desert music.

I don't know if you will accept.midis, but I was board yesterday so I threw this together:
http://www.mediafire.com/?7c1920brc1xefbe

You could use it for a "danger" theme before a boss or something like that.
Let me know what you think.

Hmmm... I don't know what it is or how to explain it, but all of your songs... idk, they sound good, but... hmmm... uninteresting? Don't take that the wrong way, they have potential, it jsut feels like it's missing some energy or something.

What would you suggest doing to make them more interesting?

Idk, I'm not the best person to ask about stuff like that, but if I had to throw out an idea... hmmm... Mix it up a bit, give it some energy. The issue seems to be that your songs are far too calm, especially considering the locations they'd be needed for.

I actually felt like they were repetitive the more I listened to them. I've tried to make them more "energetic", upbeat, and not so repetitive.

Here they are:

Danger

Ruins

Emptiness
(the old links will also link to these now)

I actually think they sound a lot better than before. If you still think they need worked on, maybe you could PM me what they would be used for, so I can make them fit better.

Danger sounds good.

Ruins sounds like it could actually make a nice boss theme theme for paranormal bosses (ghosts, mummies, ect) with a little work. As is it's pretty good, but I'd honestly like to see what you can do with it if you'd be interested in making it a boss theme.

Emptiness sounds... clashing. You have the calm castle theme with the sharp sounds from the bells, idk, it just seems off to me, but thats just my call. I'd say focus more on an over all castle aspect, but thats your choice.

I PM'd you about this one.

Ok, I'll see what I can do to make it match better and not clash. I might re-write it (if you guys would want) into a ghost house theme or something like that, because I intended for it to create a spooky, empty feeling.

Sorry to double post.
I tried to make the ruins song more "spooky" and boss sounding. If it doesn't fit, then I have another use for it and I will try again, but if it works, then great

Spooky Boss

Hmmm... It's good, but it feels lacking. I'd say use it as a base and maybe see if you can work with someone more experienced with music (than me that is).

Maybe try Glukom.

I'm going to try and get it one more time, and then if I still can't get it right I'll contact someone else more experienced with music and see what they think needs added.

Sorry to double post again.
I think I have made the song more "boss like" by speeding it up and putting some effects in the background. If it's still not what your looking for, then I'll contact someone about what needs to be done with it.

Here it is:
Spooky Boss

It still seems off, although I like the faster pace.

Also, when I said someone more experienced, I wasn't trying to put you down, I was implying that I have very little experience in music so I can't give much criticism.

I know you weren't trying to. I still might talk to someone though just to see where to go from here.

Sorry you haven't heard back from me in a while. I have an idea for what I need to add, but I haven't had the time the last few days.
Just to let you know I'm still working on it...

Felt like making something for you guys.
It's only a start, it only has one part of the melody and the introduction (sorta)...
I threw this together quickly as a potential Desert Theme, so if this is the right mood and fitting (I wanna know before I continue), I'll make an unhalf-assed version.
Oh, and at this stage it's an MP3, I'll export it as an ogg when/if it's finished.

Sounds like it might be more fitting for a mountain location, not that thats a bad thing since we have a mountain world planned.
