You probably don't have to make it. We could easily use the newer Spiny egg or a slight edit of it, not problem with that, the main focus would be the main creatures animations.

Hey, Chaoxys, remember that Octorok cameo idea I came up with, and you resolved to color it like a Blooper? I could make that if possible.

I haven't made it yet so you can, and you don't have to make it blooper colored, that was just a side idea.

I considered sketching this out to demonstrate at some point, but I think one way to go about it would be essentially combining Blooper and Snifit design elements to create an underwater enemy that shoots bullets. That way you're referencing the Octorok in function and design while still keeping it Mario-fied, if that makes any sense.

Hey Guinea, you know that update list on page 3? Feel free to slash off things you've changed.

Actually, would it be better for me to make an updated content topic (for music/graphics) that I could update when needed?

Whoops more sprites.

Mkay so in chapter 2 we had plans for a boss that required the camera function. After the release of chapter 1, it turns out a few people can't use said function, so I had an idea for a replacement boss.

Image

I call it Glummy (Glum/Glub/Mummy), the mummified cheep cheep. I have some thoughts on it's battle plan and it's rather simple actually but I won't go into detail yet. First I want to know if people like it.

I think it's great, however, if he's a boss, he should be just a little bigger.

Also, whatever happened to that Phanto boss from old MFGG?

I think that's a nice idea for a boss.

He is right, I think that a boss has to be bigger than Mario.

He's clearly larger than Mario, also, there is no rule saying a boss has to be giant.

Jinx from SMRPG, Bowser Jr., Lemmy, Fawful, Jojora from M&L:SS, Birdo, Popple, Kamek, Comander Shroob, Alpha Kretin, ect.

Plenty of bosses are taller than Mario, but they don't all have to be, especially if the larger size would become an issue to work around during gameplay.

Edit- Doopliss, Troopa jr., The Master, General Guy, Koopa Bros, Tutankoopa, Crystal King, AntiGuy, Lord Crump, Gold Fuzzy, Rawk Hawk, Dimentio, Mimi, ect.

I know a boss doesn't HAVE to be big, but my problem with the Glummy is that, while having a great design, he looks more like a common enemy than a boss. I suggested the larger size to make him seem more boss-ish, but I suppose you're right.

Seeing as how he's twice the size of an average in game Cheep Cheep, I think it's fine. And like I said, for how his battle will play out, making him larger would most likely result in the player getting hit in cheap ways.

If you can make a nice battle plan you don't have to make him bigger. I just think that he would look more like a boss when you make him bigger.
Image
He let me think of this enemy ( I know they aren't the same). That's why I find the boss a little bit too small.

Well, there are giant goombas in SMG2 that are much larger than King Goomba, does that mean King Goomba shouldn't be a boss? There are larger Boos than King Boo, should he no longer be a boss?

My point is that size means nothing in whether or not they look like a boss.

If he is presented like a boss, people will understand that he's a boss. He looks bossy enough to me.

You know, this made me think, I should redo the cheep cheeps. They could use an update as they were made a while ago and I think I could do a bit better now, not to mention his visual size to his hit box is REALLY awkward.

I didn't like the eerie there so I tried to make it look nicer. This is my version which I'm posting here just to see your opinion rather than just overriding the original.

Idk, it looks too compact now and hard to read.

Also, I just animated it an, to be blunt, it doesn't look good. His movements are very choppy, there are random pixels that pop in and out on it, and his arms, instead of moving up and down, grow and shrink.

And before anyone says I'm saying this because I don't want my work being replaced, thats not the case as I did not make the original Eerie.

EDIT-
Image
Yeah, just some advice, more movement isn't always a good thing. Keep in mind that Eeries bob up and down while floating in the air so extra body movement isn't really needed as they would be moving naturally anyways.

Okay, well I didn't preview the animations so probably should have expected that. Or previewed. But the main thing was the sprite. Even if you don't like this I wanted to practice it. I can fix the animations.

And for the compactness you said, the only thing I shrunk was the back arm which looked dislocated. It was floating out from the body rather than attached, and the belly was moved in a bit.

I should fix the arms especially because they're bad looking even still.
But whosever that was was still extremely flat and blocky.

Feel free to try again, but as of right now, I find the current one more visually appealing. The farther away hand is like it is to avoid it from blending in with his belly which is something I noticed yours seems to do a bit.

Either way, you can try to redo it if you want, it's up to you.
