This looks actually cool, compared to your previous attemps. I guess you'd do well as a SMW hacker! Even if the tilesets shown in the screen are just recolors, the chosen colors are nice. I guess you're trying to go with more choconilla style. Well, it can work but your palettes are not the best. Try to reduce contrast and saturation in the second texture a little bit and make that brown palette brighter.

Maybe the jewels somehow manipulate the power of Luigi's Negative Zone, like increasing range or only hitting those you want to hit.
