My old code is lotsa spaghetti too, but it'd be so much work to redo it all.

We decided to change the art style a bit. Not that there was anything wrong with Mit's Big Five-Oh style, but I think a more detailed art style would fit this kind of game a bit more. I was also kinda getting bored of the old style (i know, that's kinda selfish lol)

sprites look good but the shading on the top half of the mushroom looks a bit off, I think it's the dark shading in the lower left side of it.

I made a small edit. Sadly removed the model legs, they just kinda we're unfitting, and made Mario a pixel taller.

Whoops! I should've mentioned that the sprite wasn't really the final one, the one that will appear in the game will look a bit different than that, and will obviously have better legs.

Also, making Mario taller would force us use a weird sprite size like 32x33, which isn't really a good idea.

But using something that doesn't abide by that rule on an ambience that supports it totally... is a most unfortunate event. You'll always be one line out of the grid.

mario's a squat guy as-is so i'm not sure why he'd need to be that much taller in the first place, let alone much taller at all.

The very top of the hat wouldn't be part of the hitbox anyway, because that'd be weird, so it really wouldn't matter.

Not saying Mario should be taller though, I think it looks weird too. It's just silly to dismiss the idea because of technical reasons.

The game is gonna have user made costumes, and making the base one's size 32x33 would be weird considering I won't let people choose their sprite or origin size when making costumes (for consistency and simplicity)
