Just downloaded it 5 minutes ago and I'm having the same issue. I can't get past the disclaimer.
No controller is plugged in or connected by Bluetooth either.

I think something that should be addressed is in the Goombah Nostra Headquarters. The blue goomba that makes you an "offer you can't refuse" puts Luigi into a text lock, making you unable to switch to Mario.

Oof, ok thanks.
Endless bugs will continue to haunt me. And I'll check out the disclaimer page again, sorry for the trouble.

Fixed that bug with Luigi.

As for the Disclaimer bug... I can't seem to see what's causing it, as it's not happening to me.

EITHER WAY, I have a temp fix for this:
for now if you cannot get past the screen using the keyboard,
use Ctrl + y to bring up the default control settings and set it.
Then in the actual game, go to options and controls and save the controls so that you don't have to do this every time you start the game up. My apologies for this annoying situation and constant reuploads and downloads.

Updated Download

The issue of the disclaimer seemed to be resolved for me after the first update :o

Regarding the game itself I have not run into any bugs yet, and from what I've played so far it is a very enjoyable experience!

I know this is a super-slow response, but my life has been pretty busy lately (thanks to me always being in Team Project Wonderland), and it wasn't until last night that I got a chance to finish playing the latest demo. Since it's still on the first page of topics, and since the game is still under active development, I thought I'd add my two cents.

First of all, I love the way you're going with this project. It's one of the more innovative fangame concepts I've seen lately - I'd say this is basically an action RPG, a genre that rarely (if ever) appears on MFGG. I like the graphics and the musical choices, and the writing is pretty fun too. Good writing adds a lot of value to a game of this sort, and I feel that good writing is often overlooked on MFGG. Some of the doors in the towns aren't working right, but I have a feeling that the towns aren't complete yet. I assume the demo ends in Gluttown - that's as far as I could get.

It actually continues beyond Gluttown,
I think I may have made it unclear as to how to progress from there. You have to solve the Baker Bros Conflict by asking around.
By doors not working right, is it to where you enter one building and it leads you to a completely different building on the inside?

I apologize for the glacial response. I've never had an issue with doors taking me to the wrong room. These are the issues I was speaking of:

Also, is it possible to advance beyond Cape Come 'n Go?

Looking pretty good! I don't see a lot of 8-Bit fangames.

Ah yeah layering issues and forgetting to give that inaccessible door a collision.

You advance past come and go by talking to the bar patron as Luigi

Ah, thanks. I finally finished the prologue. Fun was had.

The controls for the Don battle are confusing, though. In the directions before the boss, you refer to Button 3 when you really mean Button 1.

Also, since Luigi has 15 more HP than Mario, this battle is a whole lot easier if you use Luigi. There doesn't seem to be any disadvantage to using Luigi, either. To compensate, maybe you could give Mario a bigger gun so he doesn't have to reload as frequently.

Thanks for the notes. I had changed the button configs from what they were originally and must have forgotten to update the boss controls.

As for the mario and luigi differences for that battle, I'll look into it!
