The sword is gonna be used throughout the whole game. She's how you attack, level up, access certain parts of an area, control Windows 10 vulnerabilities, and use the menu. Plus she's one of the main characters and has dialogue. It's basically 99% of the gameplay.

She was never transformed into the sword, the sword impaled her and downloaded her heart because Roy Koopa needed it to appease Bill Gates who wants it to do a mcguffin thing ala Superstar Saga / Bowser's Inside Story / Thousand Year Door that requires Peach's pure heart. That's still the direction for this game, though.

The only reason Mario has it is because Kamek foresaw the return of Bill Gates and the betrayal of the Koopalings with his crystal ball, but because he learned that he can't change his visions back in Yoshi's Island DS, he instead opts to set up a contingency plan where he petrified Mario and stored him in Soda Jungle (from NSMBU), hoping that he and the Transistor would then be able to defeat Roy and Bill Gates. He had Larry, who was loyal to Kamek, act as a double agent against Roy and run away with the sword after it got Peach, and bring it to the hiding place with Mario, who now uses it after the petrification ends (NSMB2 demonstrates Koopa petrification is not indefinite).

Fair enough, at this point it still has the levels of Hello Engine so it hasn't changed much in the game structure. I'm kind of concerned for you, though. What do you think about the recent fangame takedowns?

I'm just taking a bit of a break from the RPG. I've been in a bit of a mario mood lately and i had run into a bit of a roadbloack with a certain part of the game's inventory system and so i'm taking a little time off to let my mind clear itself and work on other things for the time being. You don't wanna push yourself too hard when doing something you like because it could eventually become something you detest from going at it too persistently

Not very likely, but I assure you just about everything that I had prepared for chapter 2 has been ported over to this project and has either been re-worked or fixed up so that it's smoother or works better.
