This was unexpected. I was busy unhellofying the HE5.

ATTENTION! I am in need of coders to help fix Mario's physics for Mysterious Islandz. The game as it stands, is quite glitchy. If you are good at GM8 and is capable of reading FDE Exi's code, PM me!

Other Minor Changes

Okay cool. I just hope there's no studio hello clones. I personally fine with Hello Engine but yet don't abuse it as a level editor.

I've only seen Hello added a message box sound, changed the name and ported to studio. But I know, remaking a game is hard. He's put a effort. Good job Hello!

The .PDF help file looks really cool. Otherwise, I can't offer much in the way of critique, because I only have the free version of GM Studio, and the .EXE doesn't want to load on my aging XP system.

EDIT: Actually, the .EXE did load after I tried it again with fewer applications open.

Hey me too and I realised that the engine I used in super mart was in fact not Hello Engine but some other engine by Hello that actually works with the free Game Maker.
That was a run-on sentence.

EDIT: Oops I misread your post and thought you meant the real Game Maker when you said GM Studio

Are all future updates going to be in GM Studio?

Did you extract the files? Because I'm pretty sure that GM Studio games are supposed to work on Windows XP...

Yet, GM studio is frustrating to use. Plus it cost nearly 1/2 of my whole paycheck.

Yes it is.
Almost everyone is using Game Maker 8, and at least a third of the MFGGers (excluding me) are using Game Maker 8.1
...on a slightly unrelated note: Have you ever considered to do a Hello-styled engine for a different video game franchise?
Game Maker 8 is still in a dire need of an good Sonic engine...

Upon further review, the .EXE did run on my PC after I closed some other applications running in the background.

You make it sound like you fixed a bunch of bugs in the new release, and you probably did, but you also broke some things during the Studio conversion. Some, like the loss of the "fademaker," are unimportant, but other changes feel quite awkward, like Mario disappearing after hitting a Switch Palace block. While GM Studio support is a step in the right direction, the people using your engine aren't necessarily going to be the kinds of developers who'd be willing to shell out the bucks for the paid version. It'll be interesting to see how people use this, though.

You could also port this engine to .gmk if thats possible. On another note, could you change the physics in the next version? It'd help a lot.

I can't reproduce any of these bugs...

The standard version is $50, and you can get it cheaper if you wait for a Steam sale.

Mhm, they stoped supporting gm8 when gm8.1, which means they removed the ability to get gm8 from them, and removed the ability to upgrade gm8.

Then we need to complain so they stop being like Capcom.
