I haven't touched Clickteam in ages, but I was inspired by my throwback name change on Minus World (to SonicProject) to make a new version of a simple game I uploaded here on MFGG 13 years ago. Done mostly as a joke, this new version was fun to put together nonetheless. For those unaware, Boo's Treat is a collect the falling objects minigame and you had to avoid the light or take damage from it.

Here are links to the originals if you are curious:
Boo's Treat: http://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=02&c=2&id=362
Boo's Treat GOLD: http://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=02&c=2&id=448

Without further ado, here's A Boo's Treat Christmas Special! Stay out of the light, collect all the presents and treats falling from above!

Upcoming Additions
Probably won't be able to work on these until after the holidays.

Potential Additions (low priority)
  • Additional powerups such as a temporary speed boost.
  • Additional obstacles to overcome.
  • Higher quality graphics and additional animations.
These are additions I would like to add, but realistically speaking may not have time for in the near future. Given the theme and sort of game this is, I'm not sure it will be relevant enough to update throughout the year but am not ruling it out.

I'll check this out later. The past few days have been quite busy for me, thanks to my grad school finals, so I'm behind in my fangame-playing.

Let me know if you need help setting up the online high scores system. The current system works for both GM and Clickteam games (and for other development tools, too).

It might be a bit late to say this, but welcome back to MFGG, Pedigree! I remember seeing the Boo's Treat (and its gold version) on the main site, but I've never really played at least one of them before. This one looks interesting, though. I'll see if I can give this a shot once I find the time to do so.

This isn't a bad concept, but the current version of the game is definitely on the easy side. I had to go out of my way to get hit by the light. I would suggest adding a few enemies and making the light cycles faster as the game progresses. Increasing the multiplier beyond 5 could also help.

Have you tried disabling the warnings in the options? Until I can make additions that is the best I can offer atm. The light does spawn faster the higher your multiplier is though. Unfortunately, multipliers higher than five in the current version of the game do break the mechanics such as lights no longer spawning or items repeatedly spawning in the same location. It's something that is slated for bugfixing.

Thank you for your input, definitely will keep in mind.

Well, I just tried it out today. I like the concept and the music, along with the fact that the music is in a randomized playlist and are rather unusual choices for fangames (I can't really think of a single fangame besides this one that uses at least one of the game's music tracks), the latter of which I always appreciate, especially if the choices sound good, in case if you can't tell. I also like how you seemed to have fun making it. To me, that is one of the most important parts when it comes to making things.

However though, I pretty much agree with what VinnyVideo said about the easy difficultly (even if warnings are turned off, really), and his suggestions on what could improve the game. There could be the fireballs from Donkey Kong (they seem a bit rather ghastly to me, so it could therefore fit), which could maybe fly, Eeries, Luigi, who could hold a flashlight, and even more. The online high-scores are a nice addition, although they don't really help the replay value much right now (but, I'm sure that with some changes and additions, that problem will be fixed). Also, I found something weird about the high-scores section. Here's a screenshot of it (which has some red drawn on it, in order to show you what I'm really pointing out at):
