Post subject:	Super Mario Oddysey 2 thoughts
Lets say they go the SMG route and make a sequel. I mean, they have a great engine to work off of, and we are super early in the Switch's life. How would you like it to play out? My idea involves a spoiler, so be careful. Spoiler: I'd like to see them make use of playable Bowser, but with more abilities. Maybe a plot where Peach is kidnapped, and Mario confronts Bowser at the start, only to realize that Bowser had nothing to do with it, resulting it Mario and Bowser going on their own adventures to find Peach. They could both visit the same levels, but due to their abilities, could access different areas. Some locations could have the opposite player as the boss, like Mario capturing a large enemy of some sort. As far as Kingdoms, I like it if they balanced content out better. I feel like some of the larger kingdoms could have been a bit shorter, and some of the tiny kingdoms (Ruined Kingdom) could have been a LOT larger. I mean, Crumbleden had some amazing potential, but it's just a boss stage for the most part.

I honestly think I'd just prefer DLC packs to a sequel but I doubt that will happen due to how jam packed this game is. For how much they put into this game, I worry that it will just be a one-off before we go back to 2D platformers and linear 3D experiences.

Recent main line Mario titles have been on a decline in terms of sales lately, and with this one selling a few million withing the first couple days (not sure if they counts digital or is just physical), I'm hoping this will send a message to Nintendo. To be fair, ever since the new guy took over as president, it seems like Nintendo is starting to actually listen, if only a little bit, to what the fans want, and they aren't just going with what they assume we'd want. I mean, we got a more open Zelda, sandbox Mario, console Pokemon, Metroid Prime 4, ect.

If they do an Odyssey 2, I'd like to see fewer worlds that are more expanded upon. Don't get me wrong, the variety was nice, but the worlds were generally kinda small. I feel like Sunshine had larger levels to play around in compared to this game. Especially New Donk City - the actual exploring bit of that world is tiny with a lot of stuff just hidden in side-levels. Spoiler: Especially Crumbleden, which could have been a really cool level, exploring a huge, ruined castle that's so completely un-Mario. Instead the "detour world" that was Forgotten Isle gets a whole, but relatively tiny, area dedicated to it, and it was much less interesting a concept. I mean I get that Bowser's Castle had to be a thing and it was awesome, but that too was pretty linear and still actually small. Peach's Castle was a neat nostalgia trip but I also kinda wish I had more room to run around in there as well.

odyssey 2, huh? well... Spoiler: this is all i want in odyssey 2 (just using my comp entry as an example).
