I'd love to check this out as soon as possible, but since I don't have a Switch to play it on, I won't be getting it on launch day. If I get a Switch, this'll probably be the first game I get.

Well yep, but I just found out I can pick it up Thursday night at 9PM from GameStop so I technically get it a few hours earlier! :3

I'm not going to get this anytime soon, because it's essentially the same experience as Yooka Laylee, A Hat in Time, or any other contemporary generic 3D collect-a-thon platformers.

That's kind of a weird opinion

I haven't played them, but my understanding is A Hat in Time and Yooka-Laylee are modern games that try to feel like N64-era collectathon games, while Odyssey takes a bit of inspiration from the older collectathons but is ultimately its own thing.

It seems that A Hat in Time and Yooka-Laylee look to the past, while Odyssey looks to the future. (Not that there's anything inherently wrong with either approach.)

I loved Yooka-Laylee so I'm sure I'll love this.

I'm getting this when I get my switch in the holidays.

Hmm, that makes sense, considering that Mario Odyssey uses a lot of modern Mario mechanics not in Sunshine or M64.

I'm getting the Switch bundle. Very cool piece of hardware, and while there aren't too many games that have caught my eye on it yet, I'm excited enough for Super Mario Odyssey that I feel like it's the right time to take the plunge.

I'm (hopefully) getting the bundle with the game and the Switch for Christmas.

If there's any left in stock by that time, anyway...

Yep. Preordered my copy last Sunday, and from the looks of things it's going to arrive just in time for launch.

You're all so lucky. I feel like I'll miss out. Luckily it's a single player game so I won't really miss out.

I don't know when I'll get my bundle, but my mom told me she has it on layaway at the Walmart she works at! Maybe on Christmas, but I'll see!
