Since the board was moved to forum games, participation really dropped. It's supposed to be temporary until is gets its own section on the main menu. Well I made a quick and easy banner for it, and I hope it gets put on! Then we might not have a dip in voting. There's plenty of time, and right now it's 5AM for me. Tomorrow I'll try to get this sorted out. I already PM'd Vinnyvideo to see what can happen.

I hope it gets its own temp forum. Round 4's participation was very low.

i liked the old banner more. The composition was better.

here's my take on the banner- [simg w=907 h=96]http://i.imgur.com/qPtAlSy.png[/simg] i think using an original font/logo and fadeout is fitting being that it's a forum event, and future events that require such a banner should follow suit. it makes it feel more special.

the idea would be for that spot to rotate between other forum events should they change and they would get the appropriate attention necessary with a unique banner that's thematically linked to the event. if everyone has an issue with it then i'll change it (not like it'll take much time anyway) but the current banner's composition is honestly awful. i liked parakarry's setup more and the only real issue i'm sure everyone had with that one was the artifacting.

The banner should match other forum sections if it's going to be listed in the same place, otherwise it should be separated into its own group. (though it still doesn't match because the gradient isn't in the same location, font isn't quite right and colours are off)

in that case, if attention and participation is an issue, would anyone really mind if it got its own segment at the top of the board for the time being?

that was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, although the comment that the original banner was sub-par was only half joking and i really did think it needed to be replaced i just wanted something consistent is all, i'm sorry if that came across as genuine pride in that because honestly i threw that together in paint.net in like 2 minutes, and most of that was just finding a good scan of the smb2 boxart
