After some experimentation (also known as headache and heartache), I finally acknowledged that phpBB 3.0.x is indeed ancient software. It's going to be an utter nightmare to add new features to it, as most modern mods and plugins are incompatible with it. Also, phpBB 3.0.x is no longer officially supported by phpBB, so if security vulnerabilities are found in the future, they probably won't be patched. Earlier this week I set up a MyBB forum for testing purposes. After spending a bit of time with it, we can already tell that MyBB will be far, far better than phpBB, especially the deprecated phpBB 3.0.x. There's a very good chance that we'll move the MFGG forums to MyBB at some point. We've already discussed potential features that MFGG should have in the future, and many of them have already been implemented on the test board. However, are there any specific plugins you'd like to see?

i'm gonna go down the list from memory - a like button - SVG emote support (if we get this i'll try to run through the remaining emotes) - post themes (examples) - avatar flair forum currency and things to buy with it would be nice to have but that's a lot we'd need to think about and add all at once. stuff like post and avatar flair would be easy things to set up to be bought with currency

Hmmm... A notifications system, where you get notifications when someone quotes you, likes your post etc Also Discord styled mentions maybe? Badges and flags of course :P In addition to emotes maybe a built in emoji selector? Achievements maybe? Stuff like "Make 100 posts" or "Like 500 posts". Unlocking them would give you Tusk Bucks. I'm not too familiar with MyBB so idk if any of these are already included with it. Also, I can still help with making themes and coding the plugins and whatnot.

Thanks for the input everyone. Keep it coming! Many of these suggestions have now been implemented, and the rest of them are being considered/worked on. Mit: Could you send me a couple of SVG-based emoji for testing purposes?

Thanks Mit. I uploaded one to the server, and MyBB is confirmed to support SVG smilies. I'd have to do some tweaking (probably with the CSS) so they're not enormous in size, but that shouldn't be too complex. Feel free to keep making SVG smilies - they look cool, and adding them should be feasible from the technical side of things.
