I think the important thing to note is that they should be used sparingly.
It's sort of like why the staff stopped accepting negative scores onto the mainsite: too many of these ruin the joke. MFGG The Onion was the first of its kind, and I thought it was funny. Blue Toad News Network is still relatively new, but whoever is running YTNN is really just trying to ride off the coattails of BTNN. An oversaturation of them ruins the joke.
