Janitors would basically be people who's job it is to responds to reports and fix mistagged submissions on the mainsite. They wouldn't have any other powers but to edit submissions or with approval from the staff, delete(and anything else the staff may want them to be able to do). I also volunteer for this position if able, I see too many mistagged submissions on the mainsite. Could probably be a better name then Janitor and idk if it would have forum permissions, up to the staff really.

This is worth considering. There are a lot of improperly categorized submissions on the mainsite, and if someone wants to take the time to go through them, that would be awesome. There are also some redundant sprite rips and other things that could be pruned. I'm actually not sure if there's a way to grant someone permission to modify game submissions without giving them QC powers. I'll have to look deeper and see. Also, you mentioned reports. The current QC team has been pretty good about keeping the submissions queue to a manageable level (we've even emptied the queue a few times recently), but we've had a backlog of reports for a while. Anyone who has a staff role on the mainsite gets a special-colored name on the forums.

I mean more, on images boards and the like a janitors job is to hide posts and deal with reports. Maybe A janitors role on the forums would be similar, but idk how well phpBB deals with hidden posts.

Parakarry: If you'd like to help, that would be awesome. The current TCSMS gives us very little granularity in setting mainsite permissions. The Manage Groups section only allows us to specify access to broad sections of the Admin Control Panel (general QC, comment moderation, modifying users, making news posts, and responding to messages in the Message Ctr). You could check with R II to see if I'm missing something, though - there could be a workaround. In the future, this is definitely something I'd like to improve in the new mainsite software. For now, just keep reporting improperly-categorized submissions (or other submissions with glaring problems). If you're active and proficient enough, we'll consider giving you at least a temporary QC spot.

..ok, confession time. I'm looking on the site to see some instances of mistagged things... I can't find tags at all. On either sprites or games. I know there's something I'm missing, where are they? There has to be a page or something.

I usually find out when I'm searching for things from a specific game, and then all of a sudden you get "M&L Hammer Mario" or something like that when you're just looking for some smb3 nes tilesets.

Basically, what Yoshin said. Tags aren't directly visible on sheets, but you can use them as filters in the Narrow Selection pane when [url=https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=01&c=1]searching for sprites[/url].

I don't really see why submissions need tags in the first place. Don't we already have the ability to say which game, characters, etc. go to which sheet?
