No, it's not just you. They are super tiny.

There are plans to replace the smilies if/when MFGG 3.0 becomes a thing, I believe Mit was working on some fantastic scalable smilies.

we've had a bunch of smiley related threads recently so we should probably just unify them all to try to make more consistent progress on the new ones.
