not having a fun time right now re: lgbt thread

i actually agree with this strongly, discrimination garbage shouldn't be tolerated at all

I think it already does, but by my experience the rules aren't very well reinforced.

it'd be really cool if someone cleaned up the LGBT thread because letting psid get away with no warning for that is definitely a bad idea!

Or make a rule that doesn't allow LGBT content to be posted at all. It's much easier in that way, and allows the site to be free of attacks and harassment by not letting these topics show up.

I'm all for allowing people to share their opinions, but when it's done in such a way that you are being hateful and bashing someone else's, it's not okay.

There has to be a clear difference between discrimination and hate posts versus espressing your dislike of something. I'm really not a fan of religion. But there's ways I can talk about it without being a raving madman or anything.

okay the past hour's worth of events have been absurd and all admins involved (or not involed!) should really reevaluate what you're doing with this forum. psid was being outwardly homophobic and no action was taken. he was never warned, banned, anything. instead, the people calling him out for this got in trouble for it. and now they're being belittled for it. this is entirely unacceptable as a member of the community and is in unbelievably poor taste. as admins you should be setting the example of how to act on this board, and what just happened is not a good example. i would genuinely not be surprised if the community ends up calling for an entire staff restructure because this is ridiculous.

There's no reason an "are you LGBT" topic shouldn't exist on a forum, though there's no way I can see people having a rational discussion about it here without it getting out of hand.

There's other forums that allow you post these kind of stuff in a better environment than what we got. LGBT stuff in a gaming forum is quite unfitting and isn't part of the goal in the mind.

If he wanted to raise awareness he could have expressed it better than just to peddle old shady arguments.
