I haven't exactly tested this just now but as far as I can tell, MFGG works like this:
- Load topic listing. Topic A has new posts
- Click on Topic A, you've read the new posts
- Backspace, it loads your cached version of the previous page
Now somewhere like Minus World does something like this:
- Load topic listing. Use AJAX after the page loads to check a second time if all of the topics have new posts. Topic A does
- Click on Topic A, you've read the new posts
- Backspace, it loads your cached version of the previous page, but the AJAX still checks after it loads to see if the topics have new posts. Nevermind, Topic A DOESN'T have new posts after all.
This will be a feature in MFGG3.
