if i enter a thread with new posts, see the new post, realize it's not worth reading and hit backspace, the thread still displays the "new thread" icon this is illogical behavior i believe if the thread database was updated on page load this would not happen, but computers are a foreign contraption to me so i'm not 100% sure. i know other message boards have this feature though.

I haven't exactly tested this just now but as far as I can tell, MFGG works like this: [list] [*] Load topic listing. Topic A has new posts [*] Click on Topic A, you've read the new posts [*] Backspace, it loads your cached version of the previous page[/list] Now somewhere like Minus World does something like this: [list] [*] Load topic listing. Use AJAX after the page loads to check a second time if all of the topics have new posts. Topic A does [*] Click on Topic A, you've read the new posts [*] Backspace, it loads your cached version of the previous page, but the AJAX still checks after it loads to see if the topics have new posts. Nevermind, Topic A DOESN'T have new posts after all.[/list] This will be a feature in MFGG3.
