The idea I had for an "indie MFGG" was not a separate community. It would simply be a parallel mainsite that would allow you to submit indie games.

^ This. The indie thing. I've been meaning to suggest [i]this very concept[/i] for the longest time. [b]Let's do it.[/b] Pretty pleeeeeease.

Honestly, I don't care if you go through with an indie part of the web site or not. As long as the site staff can handle it, I welcome it with open arms. Also, if it somehow leads to branching out into other Nintendo franchises in the future, then all the better!

I'd love to see an Indie Games Galaxy, it's something I've thought about casually from time to time through the years though more recently as I've dipped my toe in the indie gaming scene. Similar sites already exist however. Would be a great way to expand resources and knowledge beyond what we do here, as well as hosting a good deal of Open Game Art assets etc. Don't know if it would replace MFGG or work alongside it, but the community would obviously need to stay the same rather than become fractured. Thing about indie games is though they can range from a few MB to a couple of GB's in filesize which is a far cry from the 50mb limit (I think) that MFGG currently has.

Actually, that Mega Man thing gave me an idea. Since Capcom hasn't taken down any fangames yet what if we ask Capcom if it's okay to make Mega Man Fan Games Galaxy or whatever? I don't want to email them because I don't want to speak as the site's administrator due to not wanting to make one, but I woulf suggest that, yes!

Rather than calling Indie Games Galaxy and having an site dedicated to just only indie games, we could have an universal subsite that's dedicated to both indiegames and fangames with a goal to create, develop and grow fan gaming-related content along with fostering a healthy indie community. The name could be these following, in keeping the similar name conventions to MFGG. But, I've gotta admit that these names are pretty bad. Pretty lazy if you ask me, although it's a better approach than NoA's I suppose.

I think changing MFGG's name is a pretty terrible idea. The site has a huge history, and it's the biggest site when it comes to Mario fangames, for years. Changing the name would make the site unrecognizable for those who know or used to visit the site. MFGG is a really good name anyways. I still think that it's better to focus on MFGG for now and consider whole IGG think after MFGG 3.0 happens.

Regardless of whether or not that's a joke, I don't mind reverting to the old name.

Bowser Tech means nothing really, at least MFGG as a name has a meaning. As for Indie Games Galaxy, my idea of it would be a sister-site that shares the same community, and this community would simply be renamed Games Galaxy Forums or something equally as generic. At least then if the MFGG site gets axed by Nintendo, an established community still exists.
