But the question is "what's it hurting if there's some rather basic forum games?" Who cares if there's no substance? You're not required to participate and as long as they're not breaking the rules, what's the big issue? All I'm seeing as a reason is "I don't like it because I don't" or "It's not sophisticated enough for me because I'm so evolved". Not every forum game can be an amazing adventure. I used to run a fairly regular Hang Man forum game way back in the day, and the posts I would get would consist of people posting "G". No substance, still fun. For everyone playing a complex game of Monopoly or Dungeons and Dragons, there's people who still enjoy a good game of Noughts and Crosses. I do agree that they belong more in a PPP type environment, but in lieu of that at least they have a place.

i think just the oversaturation is what's bad about them. more people would probably be active in forum games if there were a better balance, though then that of course raises the question of "if you want them so bad why not just make them"

I believe there is a lot of confusion about forum games. Forums can live without forum games, but in this forum it quickly turning into another PPP. In short, Forum Games =/= PPP I like forum games, but I think we are on the verge of becoming what this forum was just after the split. What's next? Removing the General Chat? In a forum, community, especially in off-topic boards, is most important. Also, I'm sorry for abusing the the forum games section. :biggrin: I don't want my reputation to be damaged, but let's be honest, the line between forum games and the PPP is becoming very thin. And I helped that.

I honestly dont see forum games being a problem on MFGG if because those people who make contentless forums games mainly stay within there and usually do not cause trouble elsewhere.

And I helped that.[/quote] i think you're also missing the point of what some of us are trying to say here. if the PPP returns, forum games will likely be removed in favor of being relocated to the PPP. forum games can and will continue in the PPP, likely as they did already, but the change in location should help things slow down and be more stomach-able for those against forum games as they are now.
