Listen here, things like this might seem fun to you but not everyone enjoys the same kinds of fun as you do. We're here to appeal to as many people as we can with a website that is easy to read, easy to use and user-friendly in general. We want people to come here and have a good time, and that can be done without the need of making posts look "silly". Suppose a new member joins and see's all these posts with wacky backgrounds and scrolling text, it's not exactly going to make people want to stick around when the forums are coming off as immature and tacky. This website is clean looking for a reason. Also please don't assume I don't like all your ideas. I wasn't against the idea of having a streaming service / official youtube which was thought of from your suggestion, nor am I against changes to the way avatars work (though I still think it may not be worth changing until MFGG3.0 but it won't matter much)

the idea of different post backgrounds could work, however they would need to be refitted in such a way that doesn't break the flow of reading posts. a background like the one you used as an example is absolutely not an acceptable background since it renders the post entirely unreadable. if post backgrounds became an accepted feature, odds are they would need to be pre-made and skin-specific to not be intrusive. so more like flair than a background.

I get that, but that's partially due to the fact that we just don't have that much activity here. There are probably other ways we could increase activity and make things more fun, but things like this are likely going to have the opposite effect.

Or alternatively, make the backgrounds slightly transparent, so you could see the text better.

Super Mario World Central looks awful. I'd rather keep posts uniform.
