here's a few ideas i had for post "flair", which would work as "backgrounds", effectively.

That looks good. Maybe we could have some 3rd party franchise flairs too? Like metal gear, pac man, or sonic?

They look fine but I would like more variety. Otherwise if there were post backgrounds it would feel like something one wouldn't bother customizing or having at all since they hardly very miffer much.

I actually don't mind that idea, Mit. Looks quite nice and remains subtle. I wonder if it'd be possible to have them semi-transparent so they could be overlaid with any skin?

this actually would work on different skins relatively easily using blending and transparency.

You'd have to confirm with HylianDev if it'd be possible but I actually really like how it looks, and I can imagine a number of useful post backgrounds themed around certain things.

Eh, I'm fine with flails but I doubt custom background colors would work with the style.

Also, SMWCentral is the worst example you can give when suggesting something design related.

I think it can work if it's done like in Mit's example.
Separate skins should probably be able to customize them, though, instead of having a universally shared pattern. I would also make them optional because I could see it being annoying to some.

The background images are a good idea, and very possible. They're just transparent overlays. And yeah, each theme would be very able to have their own, or none at all.
