I personally think that in the MFGG category in the forum, the dev forums should be Mario only, and in the community categorie, there should also be dev forums, but not for Mario.

If I understand correctly, what he's suggesting is to make a separate forum for indie projects/non-Mario fangames and have Development Showcase be Mario-only. This is an interesting idea, although I tend to prefer board layouts that don't have too many different forums.

I disagree. We're a small enough community that we really don't need two different boards for Mario-only and indies/fangames of other franchises. Plus, the mainsite already is Mario-only, whereas the forums always served the role of being a little more extensive in terms of what's allowed to be posted.

How I see it, there's very little need for this since only a few active members here develop indie games. Arguably, it would create a small rift in the community - or more likely, just create one inactive board.

I'm not really sure about that idea. I mean, we don't get that much of original indies on this site. And there's around like 5 or 3 being developed within the MFGG community. And there's very few Mario fangames developed. It'd make sense to not have separate boards, as we don't get any huge activity out of both of these.

As already stated, I feel that there is not enough of a user base to warrant a separation. Why do you feel a need for this change, friend?

That subforum is not NEARLY active enough to warrant being further subdivided.

Fewer forums to browse means more eyes on posts which means more posts. Unless threads are being flooded off the first page on the same day they are posted, you really don't need to split up a section.
