I'd like to see them gone. I preferred when you got a small bit of text as a synopsis for what the forum was about rather than having that awful rollover popup. I also think they're a bit ugly.

I'm indifferent on the banners. I don't mind them, but I wouldn't be sad if they were gone, either.

Rather than having no banner and just a text, I would rather should have simple icons for easier identification that follows the design style of MFGG3. Rather than just having a actual banner like we have. In this way, it'd be easier on eyes and less clash on the general style. This would go as, Newspaper - News/Events NES game cart (US) - Development showcase Speech bubbles with gaming icons - Developer Discussion Sketch Flip Book - Arts Board Speech bubble with ? in it - Suggestions Speech bubbles - General Chat NES Game controller - Gaming Generic Game Board icon - Forum Games But yeah, I don't really care if they're gone or not.

i would actually imagine the symbols themselves would be universal and most likely used in some kind of font for easy color changing as well as consistency

Possibly. Someone get a mockup in here of how it would look. Still an idea probably best left for MFGG3.0 though.

I like Psid's idea, too. I'm not sure I dislike banners altogether, but the ones currently are quite dated.
