Want to suggest that the site makes a new skin? Find the word cheese being censored unethical? Then this is the topic for you! Anywhoo, I'll start:

-Am I the only one to find the NSMFGGB skin ironic due to DeeY restarting the project with the name?
-I support the idea of a Luigi skin for 2013: The Year of Luigi! Just as long as there's a Weegee there...

What's ironic about that?

Well since this topic's here, I would really like a midas skin, if it doesn't jack up anyone's schedual

I really think someone should update the mainsite.
I would like to help in that, but I only have a small grasp on PHP ATM.

We have been working on a new version of the main site, however Char who was leading the project disappeared from the earth's surface. The problem is mostly time, since the ones capable of coding such a system are busy with other things in their lives.

And as you have observed, a "small grasp" of PHP is certainly not enough to make a system as good or preferably better than the one we have. Everyone working on this needs to have a really big grasp and it needs to be easy to port the old system's content over to the new system. I wanted to get to work on one for a while, but my university schedules don't allow it. I have also too long relied on the hope that Char might come back and so didn't touch anything to not get in the way of visions he had but by now I think it's safe to say Char won't ever come back, and if he does, certainly only to say "hi" but not to work on this project anymore. So who knows, maybe in some time we will see the long awaited mainsite update to MFGG3.0...

R II himself says the mainsite software is showing its age. Since Char's vanished, it would be awesome if we had a trustworthy person with ace PHP skills, but in lieu of a technological hero, I think we'll have to live with occasional incremental updates to the mainsite instead of revolutionary advancements.

I'd love to redesign the mainsite, not just because I like the thought of it but also as a portfolio piece. Still, i'm probably not on the level that RII was on when he designed the mainsite years ago, but i'd love to take a look at Char's old code, shame he vanished.

*Joke about how the skin will never be finished*

Seriously though, I'd be cool with that idea.

Suggestion/Feedback and Help Forums instead of limiting them to a single topic (or not having a forum dedicated solely to fan game help topics).

It would just be filled with bumping, necroposting, and occasional topics.
I don't think it would be necessary.

I agree with doc,
The help thread as it is receives very little activity as it is, same with the various help threads that pop up in the other forums,
Its at a minimum,

Now, if Help callout activity were to jump up about 40X what it is now, it might be worth requesting another forum to be made for help callouts only, in order for us to see who has not received help more easily, and keep them from invading the other forums,
whether or not it gets made is up to those in charge of course.

As of current though, they are few enough that anyone willing to help can deal with them on the spot, without the additional forum.

the same really goes for suggestions,
they might be posted on the spot (GC would be the current likely candidate,) but its up to those in charge of the forums to deal with it.

I like your crystal ball but you have nothing to base this on. Also the development help forum seems to do just fine.

Also I can't help but feel like the "official" MFGG Tech Support thread is condescending by design and personally would never post in it for that reason.

I think what we have right now(help-wise) is enough,
if more's needed, then administration should be able to handle it.

I wish MFGG would do another spring cleaning. There's still a number of submissions out there that are extremely either outdaded, bad, or contradict the submission criteria etc.

In the last days, a lot of work has been done on the submission queue which is now almost empty again. So we have slightly more time at our hands again. Feel free to report bad submissions which you probably do anyway, right?

Live streaming of the queue would be cool (Elyk do this more often), and youtube videos featuring MFGG's games with staff opinions/commentary on them.

I'm pretty sure that's not really that important.

Pretty sure the topic is asking for suggestions and didn't say they had to be really important.

Might attract new users to MFGG (oh the horror, am I right?) you never know.

You can take your suggestions over here, then - that's where they're more likely to get attention.

Also, I feel like MFGG needs an update to it's ever old and aging CMS that's propping up the main site much like some other people have already suggested. If we could find someone who could do that, that would be great :)
