Well, that was stressing. Busiest 4 days of my life... xD :laugh: It's 5:52 a.m. here right now (and less than 10 minutes from the deadline).
In the end, I rushed a lot of stuff. The game works, but I had to omit a couple of things to make it to the contest's deadline.
Hopefully, the "revenge" motif won't look too out of nowhere.

Etrix Reborn is a very simple GameBoy-ish shoot'em up game.
After 10 years of dormancy, the evil AI Etrix is back. Can our mysterious hero stop it before it's too late?
(yes, the game has a lot of cheesy sentences like this)

The game features mostly original... uhm... "music" composed by me.
Excluding the obvious Gradius homages and the "poofs" of smoke, the graphics is completely original.

The game was intensely rushed / tested but I didn't have the time to add all the stuff/features I wanted.
In any case, I really wanted to share.

Press Enter to Start.
Z = Shoot
Z (on the Map) = Choose Level
Arrows = Move
Enter (during gameplay) = Pause

PS: I wanted to add a Save Feature, but I just couldn't make it.
I'll eventually open a new thread about an updated version of this game.

This is a nice game. Hella loud though. I wish the first SFX wasn't that big explosion. It startled me something fierce.

Unfortunately I'm not very good at shmups so I was not able to get passed level 3. It would be nice if you could continue and it just reset your score or w/e. Oh well.

It's good though, I like it. Not bad for three days work.
