We've been talking about doing this for ages, so it's about time we finally launched the Three-in-One Competition! This is a special Minigame Competition that also integrates a Sprite Competition and a Music Competition (and, optionally, a Drawing Competition if you want to include concept art). The theme of this competition is Flying. But since this is a unique competition, participants don't need to adhere rigidly to this theme. The theme was purposely kept highly flexible. The only stipulation is that flying must be featured somewhere in the game (even if it's as simple as a flying enemy or even a background decoration). The Rules!
Thanks to CornFlakes reminding me to finally launch this (and Shroomguy deserves a hand too for being the first person to propose this idea back in 2010, if I'm not mistaken). |

I like the idea of a super competition, but... flying. That isn't really the most original theme we've ever had and doesn't really spark my interest. |

Cap'n Coconuts: The latter. It's OK to use premade graphics, but the more custom graphics you use in your project, the better. |

I have an idea in mind that will only be using the flying theme very lightly, but I'll be able to make it work. (If someone could offer me some help in music, that'd be very appreciative.) Also, if someone needs our help for a certain project but we're creating our own projects without them, would that technically be off limits? |

If anyone's interested in helping out in the graphics department for a shoot-em-up Mario/Green Lantern crossover, send me a PM please. If you really want to impress, include some of your finest work in the PM. The end result will be kind of like Luigi Land, but somewhat longer and with a different power-up system (and power ring energy management). I'm looking for someone who can make Color Lantern versions of several Mario characters, some special effects, and perhaps some unique enemies. I suppose I could try doing it by myself--but with a competition like this, my efforts may be like the sound of one hand clapping. I wonder how much of the competition time will be spent looking for team match-ups. |
