I really like games that involve mystery solving and detective work. I know the Nancy Drew games are pretty popular among this genre, but are there any other good detective games you guys know about? I'd really like to try some out.

Have you played any of the Carmen Sandiego games? Most of my Carmen experience is with the old DOS-era games, but there have been some newer Carmen games as well.

Professor Layton, Phoenix Wright, Danganronpa, although the latter one is much more, uh, wacky than the other two.

Did you know that there's a mobile layton game about solving murders? First two cases are free, the rest are quite cheap.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I haven't played any of those, so I'll definitely be trying them out :)

Layton Brothers: Mystery Room is the Layton phone game Pea mentioned. I'd say it's worth your time (and worth the money) but it's not as Deep as I'd like I guess? It's not really like a Layton game at all. It's _kind of_ similar to an ace attorney game but its definitely it's own thing. There's a new Layton game on the phones that's more like the traditional ones but also its own thing- idk if I'd recommend it unless you really like layton games though lol, I think I completed 4 cases and they're not really super engaging...

Ace Attorney series in general is great. I think you can play almost all of the main series on the phones now other than the newest one? The Ace Attorney Investigations games are worth playing too (though only one got officially localized, there's a fantranslation for the second one I think that I still need to play). Also the Layton vs Phoenix Wright game is fantastic and a must play- it's fine even as a first entry into either series.

Mark Brown actually made a video on this subject recently. Maybe you'll find something new that you like in this video?
