I'm not sure how widespread this idea is by now, but I figured early on already that the moon was likely going to be the final world of Super Mario Odyssey, and more evidence supporting this idea just keeps popping up. Even when the first trailer was shown, I found it interesting just how prominent the moon was in every single world. Plus, what better finale could there be to a game that takes place all around the world than to go the moon? Then you got the rabbit wedding planners. In Japanese mythology rabbits are said to come from... you guessed it - the moon. Likely not a coincidence they are rabbits. And now, we even got to see the new collectibles: they're Power Moons. I'm fairly certain it's set in stone by now that the final world is set on the moon. As I said, I didn't do any research whether this idea is universally accepted by now or hardly discussed, so forgive me if I'm stating the obvious. What do you think?

Chapter 7: Mario Shoots the Moon

well since every world is based around the idea that there is something that has to do with the wedding it makes sense, especially since there is the term honeymoon.

The moon is probably the location where the wedding would take place. Also, in the theme "Jump Up, Super Star!" Pauline also sings about the moon: [i]"we can zoom all the way to the moon"[/i]

I did not realize that this is was where they were going. It all makes sense now.....

Somehow, I expected them to use stars for SMO as they have been done fairly quite a lot in last few games. I find it pretty unexpected that they're using moons instead of stars which is kinda pretty refreshing to see, than using the same old star for most games. It sounds pretty unlikely that Mario will ever go to the moon for the final world or battle, even though Mario has gone to the space 2 times.
