It's got a LOT to prove but really this validates my purchase of a Nintendo Switch right here. I just hope they don't "Nintendofy" the game, taking away things that are staples in favour of being able to let grandma play the game. Keep it hard, keep it long, keep the exploration etc.

Yep it's definitely time for me to get to playing Metroid Prime 1-3. Interestingly I was gonna do it on vacation, but where I'm at only has one TV and it's tube type haha. I don't know if I even own composite cables for Wii U anymore.

Well you have time, not expecting this until late 2018 at the earliest. Even the logo feels hastily slapped together like they only just decided to start making a Metroid Prime sequel and the fact that the word "Prime" isn't central to the word "Metroid" makes me twitchy.

It's so hard for me to even nit-pick anything about this announcement. I am beyond excited that 2 Metroid games were announced... and one will be in my hands in 3 months? I'm partying like it's the early 2000s.

However, I'm still fairly confident that this game will be a good game, since Retro was a fresh new studio when they went right into Metroid years ago and put out Prime 1, which is strongly considered by many to be the best one to this day. Just because a new development team is in charge of it doesn't mean they won't understand fully what to do, since Kensuke Tanabe, producer of the Prime Trilogy, is indeed heading this project as well. tl;dr we do not know who is developing the game, other than the fact that they are "talented" and "new". It could be a new branch inside Nintendo, sure, but it could also be a new 2nd Party studio they have brought the project to or even a 3rd party. All we know is that Prime 4 is coming, and right now, that's all I need.

I think he means that on the fact sheet, the developer is listed as "Nintendo" which to me says that it's being developed in-house.
