What is there to imply that this is on Switch rather than just Wii U footage?

Paper Mario stage wasn't in Wii U, Mites from Brawl weren't in Wii U, neither was Smash Run, and neither was Target Test. I think there's too much here to imply that this is an update, if that's what you're getting at. Some things look more... 3DS-y than others, though. Mainly the Smash Run stuff.

Remember when somebody threw together the unused assets for the Dr. Mario stage? Most of the character models look like the 3DS variants. Mario and Bowser Jr. don't really match the Paper Mario stage

i think the consensus is that they're upressed shots from the 3DS version, with some photoshop tweaks here and there to make them look pretty. well done leaks, hoping they're nothing final or real because using the 3DS models and textures instead of the wii u models and shaders looks pretty bad. especially when you've got waddle dees and bronto burts walking around with wii u level polish.

you seriously can't look at that leaked screenshot and not tell me there's an enormous gap in quality between player models and the stage itself.

Hmm, the more I compare these to the 3DS version the less convincing these screens look. Especially the statue one is riddled with amateur-ish textures and poor geometry, particularly on the statue itself. That parakoopa also looks rather odd, and overall the colors don't fit the Wii U version at all. The Paper Mario one is well done though.

Yeah. The most confusing thing about the Paper Mario one is that they went through all that work to make the stage look nice... and not use the Wii U models?

I'd like to see a Switch port of Smash 4 and I'm still convinced it'll happen, but something seems incredibly off about the screenshots. A few characters seem very out of place for reasons I can't put my finger on.

Some of the texture work on things looks ultra sharpened. Dunno, leaning towards fake at the moment.

Regardless of all this though I'm ultra convinced we'll see Smash for the Switch at E3. I'd be happy if they didn't include Smash Run or any of those stupid modes though.
