These slides look like they were made for a student project, not something you'd show off to investors.[/quote] they're powerpoint slides from a french company to press and internal staff. also, if this were fake, wouldn't that mean that it would be even less likely for there to be typos? especially as many as this with the quality of the renders. personally i think it's funny that you're trying to hard to refute this because if it's real that means we get weird mario games again. they made it a point in the press slides that it IS a weird game that's trying to break how mario games have gotten samey lately. whether or not the game's good or bad doesn't matter if mario having a gun positively impacts the way nintendo thinks about making future games, especially if they've got new blood on staff (which we know already because of mario odyssey)

Okay, while I respect what Ubisoft is doing (i.e. handing Mario an arm cannon) and the possible implications this has on Mario's future (i.e. a Paper Mario game we've been craving for so long), I still stand by the fact that Ubisoft is approaching this at a wrong angle. It's already a bit cringy that Rabbids are a part of this, but I feel like the Rabbid counterparts are unnecessary. I mean, they work from a gameplay perspective (as in allowing the other player to select Mario without using a straight-up clone), but the Rabbid characters are not exactly appealing. It's like having a bunch of weirdo cosplayers follow the actual actors around on a set and there's no security to punt them out. I don't need to state that an actual Rayman crossover is a smarter notion since other people have the same idea. I'd be surprised if this game sinks the whole Mario franchise since other lower franchises are still kicking in spite of bigger blunders (Crash Bandicoot is making a comeback, while Spyro is likely next in line); however, I still can't stand to see Mario get wrapped up in another potentially embarrassing game (we already had the educational titles and [i]Hotel Mario[/i] to worry about before [i]Sticker Star[/i] waltzed in).
