It could fix many of the issues with the original while retaining the aspects that earned it acclaim.

Based on what we were shown years ago, the game seems to have some level of self parody. They know they're not going to take it seriously and it wouldn't be taken seriously anyway, so they went with over the top.

Shaq Fu was a cornerstone of the SNES library! If there's anything that deserves a sequel, it's that!

You must mean "Okay, this is getting [i]magnificent[/i]", because a sequel like this can't be anything but. But yeah, I was worried that this had been canned, so I'm very glad to see this isn't the case.

It's not about it being a bad game, it's about it being a NOTORIOUS game. It's the kind of game that gains a cult following for being so bad over the years that it actually makes it worth making a sequel or something along those lines because people will buy it. For the same reason people buy cartridges of E.T. or why we're getting things like a Night Trap HD Remaster, or that people will go out and play things like Big Rigs. It's good for a laugh and it'll make $$.

I was watching some random YouTube yesterday and the AVGN Shaq Fu video came up. I decided to google this game to see how it was going, and it turned out that there was brand new info about it -- it's coming to Switch! That's the only update they've given in about three years though haha. I've really gotta see more info before I judge it.

Why is this happening? How the heck could there be a sequel of a game that is generally hated? This game is very notorious, so why the sequel?
