How exciting. I hope they leave the art alone and just fit the game to the 3DS screen. I'm not a huge fan of the graphical direction the series has taken recently (DT, PJ).

So much [b]yes[/b]. Superstar Saga is really the only M&L game I haven't taken a crack at, and that's because by now it's kind of old and weird in my eyes (and also the screen is a little too small). To see it get a remake means a lot of new gamers will be able to experience SS in a modern way, and that's what I want to see. I just hope they don't screw it up somehow.

I'm hoping that if they update the graphics to match DT/PJ, they are least keep the designs and what not the same. Honestly, theres a number of characters from SS that i'd love to see in the newer style.

If they're going to the effort of redoing all the graphics, it's definitely not gonna be an eShop exclusive. Anyways, I'm not super opposed to the game's aesthetics being revamped, but I'd rather it stick with the old. I don't care for the art direction modern M&L games have taken as much as SS, PiT, or BiS's.

Man, I'm really excited for this if it turns out to be real. A lot of the newer Mario RPGs (e.g. Paper Jam, Color Splash) feel devoid of creativity due to the lack of interesting locations or character designs. Superstar Saga was a [i]weird[/i] game worked on by AlphaDream and Vanpool who also made Tomato Adventure and Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, respectively. The game's far from perfect (and not my favorite Mario RPG) but there's a lot of unique ideas in it that we haven't seen since. Even if we get a disappointing rerelease with minimal changes, at least the game will be officially available for a new generation to enjoy.

Five bucks says that Square doesn't let them keep Geno's cameo in the Star 'Stache Smash minigame. Anyways, I'd definitely be down for this if it's a full remake, be it in the Dream Team/Paper Jam engine or not.

Oh, lord... I feel like data-miners keep pushing their luck. I'm surprised that Nintendo and other companies aren't taking extra measures to prevent them from spoiling their surprises (especially if this game is meant for E3). So, what could this game mean for the spriting community anyway?

I guess this practically confirms that the "DX" doesn't mean Superstar Saga is improved, it just replaced the Mario Bros. thing, 'cause that's already on the eShop like 4 different times. Kinda like what they did with Punch Out!: Mr. Dream edition.

I think there's a good 50/50 split whether Geno is included. On one hand it's a very minor cameo and Nintendo probably wouldn't bother with the licensing. On the other hand we got a Geno cameo in Sm4sh so it's not like Nintendo and Square Enix are on bad terms. So I guess this is official now (or a very convincing faked leak)? If Mario Bros. isn't included, I'm guessing the Flag Goomba is Nintendo's replacement. It's getting equal billing on the game's icon so it must be another game mode or something.
