Offshoot from the Mario Madness thing. This is actually something I've been curious to ask for months. Who is your favorite partner(s) in Paper Mario? I mean, you don't even need to be a mind reader to guess my favorite, but... I'm legit curious. And for what reasons? Their character? Their species? Their battling proficiency? They have their own pros to using them in battle.

For PM64, Goombario is my personal favorite. I always enjoy reading his Tattles for enemies and areas, and his Headbonk is pretty solid against certain enemies (although it's not ideal in all situations). I also picked Parakarry and Kooper.

[b]First Favourite: Parakarry[/b] Parakarry's always been one of the more interesting partners to me. The fact that he was one of the two original partners to appear in TYD is pretty neat. And then there's also the fact that I've written stories with Parakarry more than other partners. I feel like the last fact contributes to this decision the most. [b]Second Favourite: Watt[/b] Watt's one of the more lovable partners. I mean, it's pretty hard to not love little Watt. Her design alone is adorable. [b]Third Favourite: Twink[/b] What can I say? Hacking a game to make the impossible possible is fun. And I also like the Peach intermissions with Twink as well. [b]Other Partners in Order of Preference[/b] 4. Goompa (Same reason as above, but can also be done with a glitch) 5. Goombario (First partner, lovable design) 6. Kooper (Also based on design) 7. Bombette (You can begin to detect a theme here) 8. Lakilester (Flower Fields is my favourite area) 9. Sushie 10. Bow

Parakarry is probably one of my favorites. Having played TTYD first, I thought it was cool to be able to fight alongside the mail koopa. Bow is another one that I really like. Sushie is pretty cool too, I just really like that he's a fish on land because it makes no sense. His design is also really nice I think.

Bombette and Watt are usually my gotos in battle. Goombario is also a p cool guy. I like all of them tho I think.

Parakarry and Kooper cause the koopas are the cutest and I love them, not to mention their personalities. Goombario is real close too. He's cute, has a bunch of fun things to say. Watt is one my favorites for battling. (As a bonus, it turns out Parakarry and I have pretty similar personalities. I've lost my debit card 3 or so times before, and had to get it replaced a few.)

For the original it's definitely between Goombario and Watt. Goombario's Tattle is super-useful and once he's Ultra-level he just wrecks things, whereas Watt provides excellent support, especially once she's Ultra-level. In the original, though, I generally don't find the partners that interesting. Goombario has the most personality just because he has the most lines, really, while only Lady Bow and Parakarry get any notable character. Once a partner joins your party, they generally stay pretty silent. In TTYD it's between Goombella (who once again, upon reaching Ultra-level, is just plain powerful) and Vivian (Fiery Jinx is just one of the best moves in the game period). I like all the partners in this game, though, 'cause their personalities are much more defined and they talk [i]much more[/i] than the original PM partners. It's actually pretty fun playing through the game multiple times, just with different partners in different situations, and seeing new lines. They also tend to get a whole chapter dedicated to them at the very least, or a mini-character arc of sorts. You get to know them pretty well.

I was always fond of Goombario, though I'm not sure why.

I never really liked any of the partners much in the original, but I'd have to choose Bombette because the thought of a feisty female Bob-omb is cool. From PM2 though I would definitely say Goombella.

I like Lakilester because when I have to walk for a long time I use him to travel faster. Also, battle wise watt is pretty good too because her attacks isn't affected the enemy's defense.

What? No Bow fans? Bow is the only partner to be relevant (plotwise) for the entire chapter, and she has an excellent personality. She has the highest damage output (conditionally) for most of the game, too.
