Y'all gonna continue making fangames here for a while to hone your skills? Do you want to just chill and hang with the community for a while? Do you want people to critique your art or do you just like coming here to escape from irl sometimes? There's probably been a thread like this before but with the recent revival of the old boards and the nostalgic vibes that bring I figure I'd make a thread like this. As for my personal answer? MFGG to me is both my old internet home and a place where I met some dope people(most of them are on MW now tho) BUT it's out lived it's place in my life personally. What about you guys? If you dont know how long you're gonna stay here just answer the first one. If you wanna answer both..DO THAT TOO!

mfgg connects my love of mario games to the internet. if my love of mario dies, so does my account.

I came to MFGG to get feedback on my Mario sprites and that was it. There weren't any other good communities for that because most of them are dedicated to indie games (like TIGSource). But with time, I very quickly found myself getting sucked into the community. There are a lot of great artists and programmers here and hanging out with people on the forums and Discord is a blast. I also don't think I'm alone when I say that even though I'm not too interested in fangaming, I'd stick around for the indie games. Work I've done here has landed me paid gigs with indie games, which I am very thankful for. Nowadays, I spent my time hanging out with the community. And with the next iteration of MFGG on the horizon, I don't see myself leaving for a looong time.

I didn't really expect MFGG to be how it is now. I thought there would be younger people on here, kids that were around 11-14. I guess I was wrong, and I didn't know what to do from there on. I tried doing what I loved, but it ended up leading me to the wrong path. But, later on I learned from my mistakes (even if it took a VERY long time), and here I am, back on my feet in MFGG. I'm glad that I know many kind people here, even if I caused much trouble with them a couple years ago. MFGG will always stay in my heart. I love the community of it, and the people in it.

MFGG is home. Before 2008 I never stuck to a community, then MFGG happened and bamo I've been stuck ever since. I plan on staying here for as long as MFGG is around and hopefully I will have contact with you all if MFGG ever bites the dust.

I've been around for fifteen years, maybe I'm just here because I don't know where else to post.

Just like a lot of people here MFGG is one of the first communities I've ever joined, I've made a lot of friends during the 5 years I spent here (7 if you count the period when I wasn't too active) and I owe a lot to this site for not only letting me realize my passion for game development, but also for the fun times I've had. So yeah MFGG means me a lot, which is probably why I try to help and care about MFGG much more than I should. As for how long I plan to stay here, I really don't know. It depends I guess. I have this feeling of overstaying my welcome for a long time by now, and the site not being be able to keep up with the changes resulted with the site losing a lot of activity and members, some of them being good friends of mine. So I don't know if I'll be still here when this community turns into a ghost town.

It is almost a decade since I initially joined MFGG. I hop around MFGG and MW depends on my mood and even if I managed to own a company (my life goal) as long as MFGG/MW are not dead or either one of them is around, I will be around (or lurking once a while).

I've been an admin more than half of that time. Even if there comes a point when I can't commit to being active as a staff member, I'd like to stick around as long as MFGG still exists in some shape or form. I hope our recent efforts to revitalize the site will make more people want to stick around, too!
