It looks like Florida is about to get impaled by a powerful hurricane. Is anyone around here in the path of Irma? Being in Northeast Florida, we're about to be in for some pretty severe wind and rain, but fortunately we shouldn't get the worst of it.

I'm from south Florida so I had to evacuate... now I'm out of florida. I just hope that my friends and family who are staying there will be okay. I'm trying to find ways to communicate with them in case their service goes out, but I haven't found any solution. I'm sure they'll make it, I just like to be extra sure :/

Me and my mom are evacuating today, around 5 to 7 PM EST. I hope we get out safely. Good luck to anyone else who's evacuating. Fun Fact: This is the first hurricane I've ever experienced.

My uncle is in Miami, but he doesn't plan to evacuate. My mom's family was caught in Andrew near the eye.

Central Florida. A splendid excuse to stay inside for the next few days. If we don't lose power, it shall be a magnificent vacation.

My prayer go out to you all that will be effected by the hurricain. I hope you, your families, and friends will be in safe locations when it happens.

Who's in charge of naming these things? Irma sounds like some cute librarian who has no friends but is low-key a famous internet fanfic writer. They should name these hurricanes accordingly, like Irma's screen name, 'xXsweetWhispersOfDeathXx420'. Please get the heck out of that thing's way my friends. I survived My power has been out all day and some trees fell. We appear to have suffered some minor damage. Internet is still out. But we're all okay!
