I thought this would be an interesting discussion cuz I have been around on MFGG for a while (playing games and what not), but never really rose to the idea of getting a account until last year.

So how I found about MFGG was when I went on YouTube and I found a boss rush video for Toad Strikes Back in my recommended, so I looked up the game and sure enough there were a lot more games than I thought there would be on the main website, so then I found some new favorites and have been checking the main site (and forums) ever since then for new demos and stuff.

I found it from a PC bootleg containing MFGG fangames called "Mario Gold", which also had Mario Minigame Mayhem by the way.

That's right, MFGG. Mario Minigame Mayhem was so successful that people ended up selling it in stores for money.

I was just googling Mario stuff a long time ago and that is how I found this website. Also the way I found out about toad strikes back was through the same video.

I found them through Video Game Directors Cuts, way back in the day when he made the Super Duper Mario 2 video and gave a shoutout to MFGG for having the graphics ripped already.

Same here, I think I was looking for some sprites and probably thought this place would be a good place to find them.

I'm pretty sure I was on Metroid Prime 2D forums and someone linked to a Mario game on here. It's been a nice 10 years.

I've wrote a very descriptive description on my wiki page.

https://wiki.mfgg.net/index.php?title=SMBXFan

Basically, I got interested in video games and then I discovered the world of fangames while learning how to program in Game Maker.

THE YEAR WAS 2008
A startly young french lad, I enjoyed the occasional flash parody. Eventually I got into SMW hacking and even started to work on a translation project. Then I saw a link to MFGG in a signature.
Then I lurked for a bit occasionally posting in my broken english. I made a dumb comic and a lot of people called me a troll.
Then I left after the split and came back recently.

I was looking for some Mario fangames in 2012. MFGG was hosting something interesting looking at the time. I then totally forgot about it until 2014, when Starscratcher was working on his Luigi's Mansion fangame. I created a forum account so I could post on the topic, and then just kinda stayed.

If anyone remembers Super Mario War, I came from those forums. That fangame was great.

I've been using the site for resources since maybe like 2010 or so, but in 2014 Mandew posted one of my games here so I had to register to make sure nobody was talkin' smack.

Now I am trapped help

I was looking on Youtube till a video about Mario fangames appeared, one of the fangames was The Midas Machine, i just downloaded it on MFGG, nothing more.
Then, a animation called "Super Mario Oddshow" had credits, i watched till the end, because there was a bonus scene after the credits, in the credits there was info crediting MFGG for some of the sprites, i wanted some sprites to make animations and maybe games.
Then i got into MFGG.

I never managed to make those games and animations: The end.

I don't even remember by this point. I know I found Bowser Tech and played TD's Mario Fangames, I was also making my own fangame at the time so I joined the "community" which was little more than a guestbook type bulletin board, then later on found out that Bowser Tech had become MFGG with a proper Ezboard and the rest is history.

i'm pretty sure i found it by searching for mario related graphics in a format that the games factory could use. this was about 2001 and i was 11, so there weren't really that many resources floating around the internet at the time
