When you're immersed with a group of people who speak a certain language, you tend to learn it naturally to communicate with them. EDIT: This is actually my biggest tip for learning any language, join groups who speak it or in the most extreme move somewhere where it's the majority language.

I agree on that. I was terrible at English until I joined MP2D forums. I typed like a child when I was a preteen at the time. Eventually I learned how to type like a highschooler. I excelled in English class due to this.
