Okay, I do not really like psychiatric meds at all tbh. They did nothing but harm to me in the past; while in the end, it turned out the whole diagnosis was a mistake, and that I do not have any psyciatric issues. That said, I was told I no longer need them, so I had to slowly reduce the dose until reaching zero. This was finally settled few months ago so far, great thing to happen. The problem lies in the issue that I will try to sum up here: Personal issues aside, I am currently poor, and having、 issues with living. Gladly, there is something known as handicap certificate in my country, which is something specialists told me I must have. Once I get it, I will permanently get a monthly pension of around $150, as support for some motor issues I have been diagnosed with. There, I have been doing some procedures in order to get it... but something came up. While certain medical exams have not been finished yet, some personal issues got on the way, and it led to some misunderstandings that deliberately messed up the situation. I ended up going to psychologists and psychiatrists, and so few weeks ago, I literally got cornered by two choices: to either take meds again and support the procedures to get my pension, or to be void of those... I already had the time to tell them about my experiences with meds in the past, so they allowed me to take a greatly reduced dose of only 3mg of olanzapine. I guess I had no choice, so I accepted the deal for the time being... Alright, to tell the truth, my situation ended up being much worse than expected. In short, I am extremely crippled, and problem is, I have things to attend that I can never get to do quite right in such state of vulnerability. And to make things worse, I can't simply go ahead and contact the specialists about this, plus I am currently on a trip for few weeks before I am supposed to meet them again. What would be my best choice? This is a very delicate issue that must be carefully settled, so if anyone has any ideas on how, please let me know here. Thanks in advance∼

I'm sorry but it is not my place to tell you whether your should take your medication as prescribed or not, that is between you and your doctors. Best I can recommend is to attempt to get a second opinion if you are genuinely afraid that the side effects outweigh the benefits or if you believe you don't need them.

I hate to say it too, but sometimes psychiatry issues (even spiritual ones) are to be discussed behind closed minds. I wish I could help, I am sorry but I cannot. It is not my place.

wait are you medically incapable of working or not if you are you should definitely be getting some sort of treatment maybe talk to your doctor and explain that the last medication they gave you isn't working

I was just saying that in the sense that hardly any people here know if he should take any meds or not. Not in the sense of "no one is allowed to say anything". And I'm not saying he should not post anything about it here. I'm saying it's better to ask this question to people who are more experienced.

Honestly not surprised.[/quote] You guys are really going to pick fights with one another in someone's medical advice thread? :confused: There is nothing wrong with asking your friends about medical concerns, especially when you are struggling to convince your doctors that the side effects of the medication may do more harm than good. Sure, they might get better answers from a doctor, but it's reasonable to think that a doctor won't listen to your concerns when they tell you to take the medication anyways. Unfortunately I don't have any advice to offer in this situation, it's a pretty tricky one. :(

Funny to see how I'm considered a dick for recommending him to talk this with someone more experienced instead of asking for a solution on a fangaming forum with people who hardly know anything about what he could do. It was a recommendation, not an order to stop talking and not giving any answers.
