We all know about spinoffs - series created either after or in conjuction with a TV show, usually focusing on a different setting or character.

But sometimes spinoffs can get wacky. Really wacky. These are usually animated adaptations of live-action shows.

What are the strangest spin-offs you've ever seen? Mine would have to be Gilligan's Planet.

Following 1974's The New Adventures of Gilligan, the Professor managed to build a spaceship (but not a new boat?) out of bamboo & coconuts so the castaways could get back to Hawaii.
But Gilligan, being Gilligan, threw a banana on Skipper's face (who didn't take it off for some reason, or let the Professor take the wheel), resulting in the ship going off track and crash-landing on an alien planet from god knows where.

The Fonz & The Happy Days Gang (where The Fonz has a time machine) is also a good one.

Hip was the order of 1991, so we got Yogi Bear, except the cast has been inconsistently de-aged, they now solve crimes in Jellystone Mall, and add the word "yo" to arbitrary points in their sentences. It was a massive ratings failure, NBC stopped airing Saturday morning cartoons, Boomerang refuses to air it nearly everywhere, and Yogi wasn't seen again until the 2010 movie reboot.

I've never seen it, but I know of a spinoff of Baywatch called Baywatch Nights.
It tried to be all like X Files and supernatural like.

This feels like a cop-out answer, but somebody had to say it.

When it comes to odd spin-offs; I can't help but think of literally every cartoon that grabs a preexisting group of characters and turns them into children/babies for some reason. A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Flintstone Kids, Jungle Cubs, etc. These have always rubbed me the wrong way, even when I was a kid.

I was born on the entrance to 21st century, can list off some strange spinoffs like Dragon Quest(dubbed here "Fly the Little Warrior" and a particularly mind-scarring experience to me since it was aired at the same time I got my glasses - Two episodes into the cartoon and the glasses-wielding character died) and Megaman(Ironically again at the same time I was trying to come to terms with the game(at the time, my uncle got his hands on a Megaman 7 cartridge for SNES) itself and understand it - The cartoon ruined this trial).
