There have been many studies over the years showing a correlation between myopia (nearsightedness) and high intelligence.
Here's one journal article about this topic.. These studies cover a lot of different time periods and a lot of different countries, and the sample sizes are usually pretty solid, so there may be something to this theory. It's often believed that people are more likely to develop myopia (and thus need glasses or contacts) if they spend a lot of time reading and doing other near work, especially early in life. So yeah, people who wear glasses may be more likely to possess certain tendencies than people with perfect vision.
The percentage of people with myopia has increased significantly in North America, probably because young people are spending more time "plugged in" and less time outside. A high percentage of the younger people I know well wear glasses or contacts (or should probably wear their glasses more often).
I have 20/15 vision and a 4.0 undergraduate GPA (3.97 for grad school), so it's up to you whether to trust me or not.
