Well, Mario's generally considered to be the all-rounder. The guy who's skilled in just about everything, though not to the point of excelling, except in Smash 4 where he's top-tier material.
He may not jump as high as Luigi, but he's certainly slipped and fell into less pits. He may not be as strong as Wario, but his acrobatic abilities are superior. He may not be as fast as Sonic, but at least nobody's arguing over the colour of his eyes and his games don't suck.
Mario could take quite a lot of people in a fair fight, I think. He's traveled the world, he's played nearly every sport imaginable, battled insurmountable odds, and came out swinging.
Plus when he punches and kicks his fists and feet grow to about the size of his whole body. I wouldn't want to get hit by that, no sir.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.
